You'll get invited to our Meetups as soon as they're scheduled!
Some years ago when I was taking the first steps towards my career of PR and Event Planner , I was invited to be the spokesperson for the Latin American Presidential Summit in Cartagena, Colombia. We were all supposed to be Spanish or Portuguese speakers; but guess what?... It was hilarious that sometimes we could hardly understand each other: "Tower of Babel" that's the best description for this experience. Yes, the same language, but so many expressions and words with the same meaning. Thanks God we all spoke English and could use it in emergency cases.
What a wonderful experience it was meeting people from Venezuela, Colombia, Peru, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, Brazil, Chile, Ecuador, Bolivia, and other invited countries, including of course American Consultants and many tourists who were also enjoying the beauty of the island and would join us during the "Noches de Vallenato" which really lasted till the next morning... sitting by the border of the beach, feeling the warm sand under our bare feet, drinking "aguardientico", pinas coladas, mojitos, margaritas, cubas libres.....possessed by the amazing energy and power coming from the fun and joy of the moment.
I guess I received some sort of magic spell that night and I ended up managing a Visitors & Convention Bureau which gave me the opportunity to visit many other countries, meet wonderful people and cultures, learn different languages and discover that there are two things that are common to every single country and human being, two things that we all enjoy no matter where we come from, what religion we practice, what language we speak, what food we eat; two things that break boundaries and make us one?.. MUSIC AND DANCING!!!!
PS : And if it is Latin Music, it has an added value.... for some unknown reason yet, your hips start moving automatically
